The firm served as lead counsel in the defense of Yeargin, Inc., a construction contractor, after the trial court ruled on summary judgment that the premises owner, named as an "additional insured" on the contractor's GLC policy, could claim up to $5 million in self-insured insurance proceeds to reimburse the owner's settlement of catastrophic injury claims arising out of an explosion and fire that killed or seriously injured numerous contractor employees during a "turnaround” maintenance at the owner's refinery in Sulfur, Louisiana.
